Cyon Research Acquires Construction Business Computing

BETHESDA, MD, February 12, 2003 — Cyon Research Corporation, a leader in market knowledge for the CAD, AEC and PLM markets, today announced that it has acquired the assets of Construction Business Computing (CBC), a respected print and online information source for technology used in the construction industry.

CBC will be incorporated into Cyon’s A-E-C Automation Newsletter (AECnews), a monthly publication for decision-makers at architecture, engineering and construction firms and the technology companies serving those industries. Current subscribers of CBC should receive the current issue of AECnews this week.

“A-E-C Automation Newsletter is pleased to begin serving the readership of Construction Business Computing,” said Randall S. Newton, editor-in-chief and publisher of the newsletter. “Incorporating CBC into AECnews makes sense. AECnews had already begun to increase its coverage software of interest to the construction industry. We are committed to continue to bring clarity to the technology issues that impact all AEC professionals.”

“Our highest priority is ensuring that we give our customers — including those we will be gaining through the acquisition of CBC — the absolute best source for information about the technologies that affect their jobs,” said Brad Holtz, president and CEO of Cyon Research. “By incorporating CBC into the AECnews, we are offer a much stronger, more comprehensive source of clarity and insight so essential to the design and construction professional.”

“Cyon Research was the obvious choice to continue as the publisher of CBC,” said Joe Stoddard, former editor and publisher of Construction Business Computing.
”The strength and reputation of Cyon’s principals speaks for itself. I have known and worked with them for many years through our mutual involvement with A/E/C SYSTEMS and other projects; I have absolute confidence that CBC readers will be as impressed with their insight and industry knowledge as I have been.” Stoddard, who has edited Construction Business Computing for the past five years, is leaving to concentrate his efforts on the residential construction industry, but will remain as a contributing editor to the CBC/AECnews publication.
